I came across a very strange issue - unfortunately not personally, but I have now heard from two people that the solder joints of the motors get so hot after flashing JESC that the motor wires de-solder.

I am the guy with the motors. Very odd issue. I am running this firmware on a bunch of other builds without issues some AIO fcs. After I flashed the firmware, the motors initially armed but than I got some smoke from the board and it appears some of the escs burned out.

Little tiny motors like that may not be the default 14 poles. If you don't have this set properly the RPM Filter won't work properly and it's possible that the motors will get hot. But it wouldn't cause a motor to smoke instantly. Also the motors were not getting hot at all, it seems it was the FET's that got hot and thus de-soldered the motor wires from the flight-controller.

Edit: Or possibly the wrong firmware file used in both cases. If the wrong values are used it can damage the hardware. Also wouldn't be the first time a manufacture shipped an ESC with the wrong settings. Unfortunately I can only provide second hand information - just wanted to post here to make people aware of a potential problem with this constellation.

Since it happened two times already, chances are that it might happen again. So I just spoke to NamelessRC. Both boards come flashed with P-H So etracer65 was right with his assumption that the manufacturer shipped the board with the wrong settings.

Although I do not understand why this only became an issue once flashed with JESC and was not an issue from the beginning? That is interesting. How did you and a few other people get it to work on your Nameless board?I got a great tip from Christopher Davis of NBD on making the TinyHawk 2s batteries fit nice and snug in the cockroach frame, and it makes it low profile too. Yes, 2s BeeBrain Brushless is one hell of a good time, and no need to mod pigtails for 1s and 2s.

I copied it exactly, so it should work, although I haven't had the opportunity to thoroughly test it. I thought I'd share as I never saw a dump specifically for the Mob6 on here. Running on BTFL 3. Hey guys I have a few questions. I have a tinyhawk 1s v2 rtf kit and I would like to upgrade soon. With the 1s you have to be really picky about when you fly outside as with a slight gust of wind your kwad flys off and you have to fight against it. I was thinking of either the TH freestyle or TH 2race would the 2s drones fight the wind better or should I invest in a more powerful drone?

But I wanted to know wou Because if I can just fly them on the rtf transmitter for a bit before upgrading it I would like to do that. I was also thinking about the beta fpv twig XL 3". What are peoples thoughts on this, I could do with some more knowledgable opinions. After a pulling out of dive my whoop trends to yaw hard to the left or right. What could I try in the tune? This past year I have not been flying.

This is because I had a botched corrective eye surgery. This surgery not only grounded my flying but turned my life upside down. This is a great community and it would be horrible not to share the warnings. These companies are a revolving door for procedures. They make mistakes and are able to get away with them.

I have a bunch of 1s batteries already and I wanted to have something that could use them besides my brushless whoop. Some folks may choose different parts solely to cut down on weight, but there were certain things I refused to compromise on. Carbon runs lengthwise on arms, nice and strong for its size. Motors: GepRC kv 3 hole mount, 1. Check him out, really great content on maximizing 1s performance Quality is good, they are very smooth and quiet. Comes with plugs attached on the ends which I kept on.

More robust build, thicker bottom mounting and none were DOA unlike the Beta's. Flashed Betaflight 4. Only 1 pair of 5v and ground pads separate from the battery lead pads, so I had to solder 2 wires for VTX and RX 5v and ground to one pad, kinda tricky since the through hole on the pad isn't big enough to fit 2 wires through.

Picture quality is great for what it is. Camera: Caddx Turbo Eos 2 -Good camera, handles most lighting situations well, picture quality is clear.

No issues yet. Yes, people may say there are better cameras in the same 14x14mm mounting pattern, but for the price and ease of finding one in stock somewhere, its hard to beat. Stuck to the back of the camera with double sided tape. Compared to the mah BetaFPV batteries, these have less voltage sag at the start of the pack and have more consistent performance through the entire pack.

Both batteries have BT2. Propellers: Gemfan 65mm -I only fly Gemfan from whoops to 3", they always performed the best for me consistently compared to HQ's. One of my favorite designers on Rotorbuilds and can't wait to get my hands on his Micro Seagull frame he teased. Printed through Craftcloud service. Used TPU and expected it to be filament printed but ended up being Selective Laser Sintered, so the finish was slightly like suede unlike the clearly seen layers.

Quality is still good, however the canopy does not exactly line up with the FC mounting screws. Not sure if this is a design issue or a printing issue. So overall, I am happy with the end result. I am currently doing pid-tuning and filter changes, but until the weather gets warmer and the snow melts my testing will be limited. I plan similar - same frame, prop, may be motor, but lighter cam and gnb HV battery. This build has seen some changes since i posted it, will update with a v2 soon.

Right now it has BF 4. Thanks for the shoutout : great write up and the build looks awesome. I've been using some different processes lately and it seems tolerances need to be adjusted a fair amount between them. If anyone else has fitment problems with these, please let me know! Im getting one FDM printing to see how that turns out. Main issues with this one are front and back mounting locations. I had to squeeze them inwards to fit.

When I saw that a guy in my country sold 2 TP3 frames I could not resist and bought both together with some other parts. If I would buy from USA I would have to pay shipping, tax and import fee and it would almost tripple the cost of the frame and if I would not have found these I would probably buy the speed racer twig from Germany.

Target weight is below grams but I think it will be hard to go below that, weight now is around grams and I still need to fit the canopy, vtx and antenna and the batteries I ordered weighs 49 grams.

All parts with frame mounted and the second frame as spare parts Amazing how small these motors are The motor screws were M2x4 and to short, need M2x5 for this frame. Woah those motors are really small! Looking great already, keen to see updates. I've got the same build going well, in the queue! I just received my Eachine Twig canopies the other day and haven't started the build yet - but soon!

I'll be watching. Have you decided that? I haven't really got beyond having all of the parts. I need to finish the Gecko before I even do dry-fitting, or I'll get all the parts mixed up.

What are other people recommending? There seems to be two ways to go, 3. If you go for the 4. This is taken care of if you flash with JESC but still a good reminder. First thought was to try 3. Flickeryvision Monkey. I'd say run it on 4. I'm using it on my toothpick not the tp3 but the original one and it's working absolutely fantastic.

I lowered my filter sliders into the "dangerous" part and my motors are still only luke warm when I land. What canopy did you order? A NBD one like Kabab? Thanks, just loaded BF 4. I am still waiting for the VTX and the canopy but started to cut the motor wires to correct length and solder the motors and receiver to the board. So I tried out the nfe racer mode on emuflight.

Not sure how I feel about it. Whats your favorite? Goggle advice?

So after getting rid of my bigger quads I just bought a meteor Banggood shopping. Options sky zone sky02x or fat shark attitude V5. By the time you add it all up it gets more expensive that the fat sharks that come with battery pack, patch and omni.

Hello everyone I'm new to whoops, been flying months with a 5" freestyle my new tinyhawk 2 turned up yesterday and i Iove it, I was wondering if project mockingbird works with tinyhawk 2? If not does anyone have any suggestions for settings I'm obviously pretty new with beta flight.

I am trying to flash emuflight to my betafpv meteor65, but I am unsure as to which target to use. I know its possible to do this because Ive seen videos of ppl flying this on emuflight on youtube. Betaflight is a Cleanflight fork started by BorisB. It used to work as a beta test platform for Cleanflight and kept pushing the envelope in terms of performance, but it eventually evolved into a fully grown up, stable and well maintained firmware by various developers. In fact it looks like it is the number 1 open source multi-rotor firmware according to Google Trends analysis around January The name "Beta" comes from the fact it started with a goal to keep trying new things out and have quick and easy test distributions available.

The name "Beta" has stuck as the brand name was strong at the moment where it transitioned from beta to stable and there was already a lot of documentation around. Betaflight is also always being adjusted to support most current Cleanflight tools like Configurator and EzGui devices and many other MSP tools. There is no special tool needed just for Betaflight.
